Creepy Cassowary

AWwwwwwwwwwwwwwww look at it. It's so cute. Until you find out this thing can disembowl you.
If you haven't read the title yet, this is about cassowarys. They are found in Papua New Guinea, and the islands around it. This includes parts of Australia. These birds are omnivores. Suprisingly this creature is endangered. I find this weird since it has claws long enough to murder a person. They also live 40-60 years. Now you are probably wondering how they can kill someone. They run at you at a max of 50km an hour (31 mph) and slash your stomach with their huge talons (Scary).
A really cool fact about this bird, is that it has emerald green eggs. like this:

Purrrrrrdy

Now because it is endangered, it is obvious it is going to have some predators. These include Humans, crocodiles, and dingos. You can also sigh in relief because these claws are not for hunting, they are for defense. The actually only eat small things such as Insects, grass, and fungi. For these eggs, the father also takes care of them. They use their crest to assert dominance, It takes about 50 days till they hatch.
The two senses they depend on are sound, and sight. anyway, I don't have any more to say, so I will show you their claws

This is terrifying

Anyway, that's all. As always, you can leave suggestions to what animal I should do next in the comments. I will try to update daily now. (I'm running out of ideas)
Bye:)

Kind Kiwi

Hello people! I apologize for not updating for a really long time. There was school and it was a busy year. Also, If you want to find the source for these pictures, just search them on google. They can all be found on google images. So anyway, it's summer so I want to start it off with a cute animal, the kiwi. Lets begin!
Do I need to mention they can't fly?
These adorable birds are found in New Zealand. They are endangered, but there are actually 5 different species:
Brown Kiwi
Rowi
Tokoeka
Great Spotted Kiwi
Little Spotted Kiwi
All of these are endangered
These birds are nocturnal. They are also the only bird in the world with nostrils. As you can see in the picture, they have puny eyes, and they don't use them a lot. Instead, they use a sense of smell to track down grubs, worms, and seeds in the ground. They are territorial but to be honest, how could something like this be agressive?
Kiwis usually mate for life, and the father takes care of the egg. The female only lays one egg at a time. They help do the incubation for the eggs, which takes 70-85 days. The chicks come out the nest to eat after five days, but are never fed by their parents.
just one hundred years ago, the kiwi population was once 12 millions, but now there are only 100,000. It is thought that a single stray dog could wipe out the entire population. In less then a week. A lot of people think they don't have any wings, but they are just so small, you can't see them. They areabout or under 1 inch long. This is the national animal for New Zealand, and because of this,  since world war 1 people have nicknamed soldiers from New Zealand Kiwis. Since the parents don't take care of the chicks, only 50-60% survive, and the rest are hunted, mainly by stoats, and stray cats/dogs. Kiwis Latin name is Apteryx which translates to wingless.

Well thats a for now. Sorry that it's a bit short, but not much is known about these because they stay hidden. If you have any animals you want me to write about, just leave them in the comments, I do read them and I'm very open about suggestions. I will start updating as much as possible, Thanks for reading, and make sure to spread the word! GoodBye!
